TyranoScript games don't seem to have text show up at all

I saw other people mention this, but the solutions seemed to be game-specific and I couldn't wrap my head around them. (I don't know the first thing about code - I only got this thing working through video tutorials.) Whether I launch the games through Textractor, or open the games separately and then attach Textractor to them, not a single hook will show up except my clipboard.

For the record, the two games I was looking at via TyranoScript that didn't work were:

Another game that is uhhhhh questionable so I doubt I should link it but it's in TyranoScript like the above and behaves the same way

(On a note unrelated to TyranoScript, I also couldn't get Textractor to even recognize the game Laughter Land as a process, but considering that game has to be run in Windows Vista compatibility mode to even work, I'm not really surprised Textractor doesn't work with it. It would be great if it did though.)

Both of the games you mentioned have patch_apply_auto enabled, so the process is quite simple:

1. Download the corresponding patch file for the game, and extract the .tpatch file from the archive into the game directory.

2. Launch the game once — it will prompt that the update is complete and automatically exit.

3. Launch the game again — the dialogue text will now be automatically sent to the clipboard. You can switch to the clipboard in Textractor to read the game text.

If you’re interested in the changes made, you can open the .tpatch file with 7-zip and compare it with the original game files.

For the Laughter Land game you mentioned, you need to apply the 1.02 update patch to fix compatibility issues. Please download the provided archive and follow the instructions in readme.txt to complete the game update. After updating, you don’t need to set any Windows compatibility options.

Once the above steps are done, use the following H-code in Textractor:
