Hi
I am working on deploying the Checkmk Agent on GNU/Linux systems with Saltstack. For this I checked your presentation. Very cool stuff :) You called a Salt State ensure-check-mk-agent-installed in your demo. I cannot find that state in this repo?
I would say more work in needed to fully cover the agent deployment use case. But that is no accusation or demand from me in any way. I am already quite happy that Checkmk is open and even active in supporting this.
The proper way to go forward with this is to make this repo a Salt Formula. I have not yet reached the experience in Salt that I have with Ansible but I am getting there. I would like to help with this Salt State.
When I checked, https://gitlab.dwbn.org/salt-formulas/salt-check_mk_agent-formula currently covers my use case best. I am in the process of reworking that Formula (starting with SLES support, agent output encryption, systemd support and general improvements). I will also check how salt-checkmk can help here.
