Headphone Preview Static

In studio B and C, the headphones play static when no signal is coming through when the volume is moderate.

-Check all connections for consistent/chassis grounding
-Check the contacts for the Headphone Amp (use rubbing alcohol and compressed air to clean)
-Change cables to check for faulty cables.
-Check out knobs for buildup in potentiometer

Like anything debug piecewise, swap preview speaker for headphones if the speaker works properly etc.

Currently working on making a diagram of all the hardware and cords in Studio B before I try troubleshooting the issue. This is to make me familiar with the system to make problem solving easier.

After testing the headphone amplifiers and checking my results with Saman, we concluded that the dual 1/4" and XLR inputs produce the extra levels of static heard.

It is unclear why this is, but as a work around, we decided to switch from using the XLR inputs to the dual RCA inputs as they exhibit acceptable levels of static.

To do this we used the Peavey interface amplifier to convert the XLR to RCA before going to the headphone amplifier in both studio B and C. Afterwards I adjusted the studio B diagram to reflect this change.

Yesterday, I tested the multiple inputs/outputs for Headphone Amplifier. After checking my results with Saman, we concluded that (for whatever reason), the levels of static heard through the headphones was from having the signal come in through the XLR inputs or the TRS 1/4" inputs.

For whatever reason, the RCA inputs exhibited normal/acceptable levels of static when tested. So as a work around we decided to use the Peavey Interface Amplifier.

So, with the new current setup, the signal comes through ethernet, gets converted to dual XLR (L&R) from the splitter, and then is converted to dual RCA via the interface amplifier. After which it is fed to the RCA inputs of the headphone amplifier.

Because the interface amplifier is also being used for the aux device input, we tested the setup with both channels running where the computer is playing music to the headphones and my phone was sending music to the board through the aux cable. This didn't affect the quality of either signal so the setup will remain.

In effect, I need to alter the hardware Draw.IO diagram. Also I will need to implement the same solution in studio C.
