I'm creating a presentation/talk where I wish to quote the "Dependency Injection Principles, Practices, and Patters" book. However, in the beginning of the book there's a paragraph stating:
No part of this publication may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted, in any form or by means electronic, mechanical, photocopying, or otherwise, without prior written permission of the publisher.
Does this include quotes? I will cite the book whenever I quote from it. The book is a heavy inspiration for the presentation/talk I'm creating, so there will be lots of quotes from it. Most of the presentation/talk will revolve around the issues discussed in the book.
Also, I'm planning to present this at work, and who knows elsewhere in the future, maybe even developer conferences.
Is this OK? Are there any limitations if I e.g. get paid to do a talk/presentation?
Also, I think I have the 2nd edition, but it doesn't explicitly state that in the book. Is there a way for me to verify which edition i have?
