We need to redesign the transmitter frame for the 8-bit transmitters as to eliminate the need for layer switching via transistors. Ideally, all 8 output pins from the shift register should map directly to each LED on the transmitter. Furthermore, the support beams must have a minimal profile to avoid obstructing light emitting from LEDs behind a beam.
