In rare cases, refine template is choosing a pixel outside of the (e.g. 0,2460 -> -1,2460)
Given that the variance is supposed to be set so high for out of bounds pixels, and these are giving very low SNRs, it is unclear how this is happening.
More characterisation of the issue is necessary.
