Feature: UX: remove outer frame

IMHO the dimmed outer frame around the led modules is not needed, as the edge is a clear enough border. I would suggest to only keep the border between upper and lower segment (as well as the borders within a segment).
The benefit would be additional led's to use for the contents. And as the resolution is suite low, I belive two additional horizontal led's and one additional vertical led is a nice gain. :)

I kinda like the look of the outer borders, but I agree that recovering some pixel real estate would be nice, maybe worth the tradeoff. With only 9 x 34 pixels to work with, esthetics becomes a luxury. 😄

TBH I normally visually prefer tables without outer borders. :D On the one hand, you could argue that esthetics is a subjective thing, on the other hand, I would point out the heuristic aesthetic and minimalist design by NNg. And maybe even have a look at the LaTeX Booktabs package for their take on tables. And yes, I do like the quote form follows function. ;)

But anyhow, as you said, with such limited space, esthetics is maybe not the top most priority.
