Soft clean isnt working in Foot+fish but work inconsistently in kitty+fish terminal

When i see the code it use like soft clear instead of literal clear, so it should intact the previous output and i can just scroll up right? I might be wrong here. But if that the case I cant manage todo that, i dont really know why.

I never manage to make it work in foot+fish, but I once make it work in kitty but not anymore.

Also, is there like implementation to not make the screen for anifetch only when running it? Like if theres some output/text that previously have in it it doent get cleared or shifted up ?

soft_clear was from when I was trying to do stuff manually, now most of that is handled by rich iirc

I checked the repo and I still see clear_screen_soft() being called in renderer.py and core.py, so im a bit confused about how it fits with the current Rich rendering.

From what I understand, it still moves the cursor to home and clears to end, which seems like it would still affect previous output. But you mentioned most of it is handled by Rich now .

Is the idea that soft_clear is basically legacy and shouldn’t be relied on anymore? Or is there a way to run anifetch without it affecting previous terminal output (like not clearing/overwriting earlier lines)?

I just looked at the code, yeah some parts still use soft clear.

I don't have foot/fish installed right now, I might try to install a new VM with wayland to check why it's broken.

You'd need to comment out clear_screen_soft() line in Renderer.start_rendering()

But it should work like what my description are right? Cuz sometime (like 1 in 100 terminal open) it works
