Sorry, it hasn't been supposed to run well. It runs on my machine well, but the plugin system runs so slow. I'm trying to optimize it these days.

Do you mean a IRC group? I can't setup a IRC group for this project because this can leads legal risks.

I know IRC, but there are some legal reasons. China's Cybersecurity Law requires me to "remove illegal contents at time", which it impossible for me. If the IRC place was attacked and flooded with pornographic, violence, terrorism, subverting state power, splitting the nation or disseminationg rumoms disturbing sorcial order contents and I didn't remove them "at time", I will recieve a fine of $14000 - $140000. This is for public safety, and release these messages is treat as abuse of rights. Obviously I can't maintain the server 24/7 so it's impossible for me to follow the law if I setup a server.

nobody expects you to maintain “the” server. others are doing that for us

No, that analogy doesn't work because Chinese law treats group chat platforms differently from physical goods.
For kitchen knives, you sell a tool; you have no duty to monitor how it's used 24/7. Liability only arises if you knew it would be used for crime. For IRC Server and group, Legally classified as "Internet Group Information Service." By operating it, I accept a positive legal duty to monitor and remove illegal content immediately. The law explicitly says "whoever builds the group is responsible" (谁建群谁负责).

It's not about accidents—it's about platform liability. The law assumes that if I open a public communication space, I must police it constantly. If I can't, I shouldn't open it.

That's why mailing lists are safer—they're asynchronous, so there's no "immediate removal" requirement.

thank you for the detailed description. many people use irc asymc too. i did not know about that laws and the differentiations. let me sleep over it.
