The app has a great update feature. It works well and makes it easy to stay in sync.
One thing I've noticed is that, after an update, it's hard to know what changed. For most content in the app, that's fine. However, it would be particularly helpful to know how the schedule might have changed. That would allow me to much more easily adjust my plans for which talks to attend.
The following would help:
- add a page listing a change log for the schedule (not just the most recent update)
- add a permanent link to the changelog at the top of all pages of the schedule
- after an update, display a temporary in-app notification banner indicating that the schedule changed (regardless of the current page), with a link to the change log
If such a change log already exists then please make it more prominent/accessible in the app, as suggested. If there's already a change log for all app content then it would be extra helpful if there were an additional log with just schedule changes.
When I'm talking about schedule changes, I'm talking about any changes, including to slot times/locations, which talks are in which slots, the list of presenters for each talk, and the talk summary.
