Feature Description

Issue Summary

Currently, there is no warning shown to users while creating an account regarding password safety.

To improve user security awareness, add a warning dialog/message during signup.

Required Changes

• Show a warning dialog while creating a new account.
• Warn users not to use passwords matching other accounts, such as:
  • Google
  • Facebook
  • Other social/authentication accounts

Warning Message

Security Warning

• Do not create an account using the same password as your Google, Facebook, or any other authentication account.
• Please use a unique and strong password for this platform.
• Please do not share your password with anyone else.

Expected Behavior

Before account creation is completed, users should see this warning and acknowledge it before proceeding.

Hi @SB2318 ! I noticed the signup flow currently lacks a security warning regarding password reuse.

I'd like to implement a Security Warning Dialog that appears during account creation. It will inform users about the risks of using passwords identical to their Google or social media accounts and encourage the use of unique, strong credentials.

I plan to build this as an accessible modal with an acknowledgment requirement before proceeding. I'm a GSSoC 2026 contributor and would love to take this up. May I proceed with the implementation?

Planned implementation steps:

1. Analyze the current signup/authentication flow.
2. Add a security warning modal/dialog before account creation is completed.
3. Display the warning message about avoiding password reuse with Google, Facebook, or other accounts.
4. Add an acknowledgment checkbox/button so users must confirm before proceeding.
5. Ensure the UI remains responsive and accessible across devices.
6. Test the complete signup flow and verify no existing functionality breaks.
7. Add screenshots/demo of the implemented feature in the PR.

This feature will improve security awareness and help reduce password reuse risks.

• Ensuring the UI remains responsive, accessible, and visually consistent with the existing design system
• Adding proper validation/acknowledgement flow before proceeding with signup
• Keeping the implementation modular and maintainable to avoid affecting the existing authentication logic
