GPodder Nextcloud sync

This app seems abandoned but though I would ask anyway as this seems like a good way to implement self hosted sync if you use nextcloud.

There is a nextcloud app that implements gpodder but runs off your nextcloud - https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/gpoddersync

This will be included in AntennaPod 2.5.0 so can keep phone and desktop in sync ( and tablet and car if they are android) - AntennaPod/AntennaPod#5243

Have also tried this in KDE Kasts and it works well, although the app as a whole is less impressive..

Just confirming the demand. Antennapod is brilliant, and it would be super useful to sync it with desktop app.

@AKDub Thanks for this feature request! The next release of Vocal has gpodder.net sync built-in, and as far as I can tell, adding support for sync via NextCloud would be relatively easy to add with our current implementation. I need to look into this a bit more deeply, but I'm tentatively going to say we'll support this :)

Just chiming in, in case you haven't gotten to this yet: The way I understand it, gpoddersync mimics the gpodder.net API and is basically "gpodder.net except on a different domain" so if you implement regular gpodder.net sync and then simply leave open the possibility of setting a different server than gpodder.net, while leaving the rest of the logic as it is, my understanding is that this would be sufficient to support gpoddersync :).

I installed the latest available on Manjaro (2.4.2-5) but I can’t see any sign of gpodder.net integration or gpoddersync through Nextcloud (which is what I’m really looking for). Is this still planned?

@Moilleadoir Yes, it is still planned. In the development version (main branch) this is partially implemented, but I need to finish it and then create a stable release. It's not yet in the version you have installed. I'm hoping to restart development on this project soon. Sorry it has taken so long!

No need to apologise. I realise these kind of projects need a significant commitment of time. I did find your statement about the future of the project after I posted here, but it was undated.
