Maintaining altitude above ground level

Hi,
would it be possible to add the ability to maintain altitude above ground level? Someting like in the WaypointMap?
I would like to map some steeper slopes and this feature would be lovely to have. Or maybe just the ability to manualy modify the waypoint altitude.

You could take a look at this one, you can put the litchi output from DJI-Mapper through the python script and it will take elevations from the Google Earth API, it might work with a bit of modification:

Just a wild suggestion. Is it possible for us to fly and map at 150m from the highest point, generate the DSM, and use the DSM file to fly again using above ground level flight? This will greatly help when fly in hilly area in the forest. Ability to do above ground level flight will enable the user generate highly detailed map. In my case, will be useful for plant species identification and conservation of valuable tree species in the forest area.

Hi, is there any option in the app interface to maintain altitude (above ground level) stable during the flight to map slope changes with accuracy?

@johnedrone No, not yet. I'm currently busy (working 2 part-time jobs), so I can't contribute much to this project. Hopefully, in a few months, I'll be able to work on this and other issues that have arisen.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of progress on this feature.
A roadblock I've ran into is where to source this data from. At first, I thought of using Open Elevation API, but while testing I ran into the issue that it's often offline and not very reliable.

As this is an open source project, I can't really maintain a server with an API just for this feature, so I'm looking into open and free alternatives.
If anyone has ideas where to source this data dynamically, that would be great!

EDIT: I'll test out elevation-api.eu soon, as it seems very similar to Open Elevation.
