Number of colors in colormap

ParaView's "Color Map Editor" has a section that allows the user to choose the number of (color) table values for the colormap, with a default of 256. It would be useful to have that slider/box in QuickView as well, because sometimes using just a small number of colors (e.g., 10 to 20) can lead to informative plots.

We could add this feature -- do you think it needs to be added on a per-view basis or globally?
Implementing it either way should not be too complicated -- just clarifying what you have in mind.
