Which GCAM versions are applicable?

Thanks a lot for your model development and sharing! May I ask which GCAM versions are applicable for rfasst v2.0? Does it include GCAM v7 and v8?

Hello @benhbm, yes, the package should work with the most updated model versions (although some adjustments may be required).

@benhbm, I meant it works for GCAM7 and GCAM8 and that modifying the M1 script you could easily adjust it for other (e.g., customized) GCAM versions.

Sorry @benhbm , I just realized that the latest release crashes with model versions that include the BYU, so it won't automatically work for GCAM-v8.0 and above without additional adjustments...

I noticed that the GCAM v8 model treats Ukraine as an independent region and changes the starting year to 2021. And what's 'include the BYU'? These make differences between GCAM v8 and GCAM v7.
Will your team update rfasst to be compatible with the latest GCAM v8 model? How should additional adjustments be made? Can you share a more detailed description. THANKS A LOT!!!

BYU refers to the "base year update" to 2021. As you say, model versions that have the new features such as the new base year or the disaggregation of Ukraine (i.e., > GCAM-v8) will not be compatible with rfasst. We will work on this and make a compatible release in the upcoming months.

@jonsampedro Hello! I noticed that rfasst v2.1 is released. Does this version support GCAM v8.x and Ukraine analysis? I read the new webpage but it doesn't mention GCAM v8.x. Thanks a lot!

We’ve just released rfasst v2.2, which is now compatible with GCAM v8.x (including Ukraine).
