I’m incredibly honored to share that Devolutions has become a major sponsor of ControlR. This sponsorship will support the project for the next two years!
Devolutions has posted their own announcement about the partnership, which can be read here: https://devolutions.net/blog/2026/01/devolutions-announces-a-major-2-year-sponsorship-of-controlr/
This is a deeply meaningful moment for me. ControlR started as a small, personal project that I originally built because I still had ideas I wanted to explore after Remotely. I also missed the freedom of shaping a product and watching my ideas come to life. I never expected it to evolve the way it has, or to attract the kind of support it’s receiving today.
Devolutions’ sponsorship isn’t just financial support. It’s a genuine partnership with a team that cares about open‑source foundations and wants to help ControlR become the kind of dependable, flexible remote assistance platform that organizations can truly own. Their commitment allows me to work on ControlR full time, something I’ve never had the opportunity to do before with any of my projects.
That means:
ControlR will remain fully MIT‑licensed and community‑driven. I retain complete control over its technical direction, and my goal remains the same as it’s always been: to build a remote control platform in the open that people can trust and run in their own environment.
I’m grateful beyond words for Devolutions' belief in my project, and in me as an individual. I’m also grateful to everyone who has supported and encouraged me over the years, especially during the Remotely days, which gave me the courage to pursue this opportunity. This sponsorship gives me the chance to bring ControlR to life in a way I never could with Remotely, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
- Jared
