Multi-line permanent progress doesn't overwrite temporary progress

Bug Description

I assumed it was possible to pass multi-line strings to emit.progress. At least, craft-application does it. However, the first line doesn't overwrite the existing progress line if it was longer.

To Reproduce

from craft_cli import EmitterMode, emit


emit.init(EmitterMode.BRIEF, appname="testcraft", greeting="Greeting")
emit.progress("foo foo foo")
emit.progress("bar\nbar", permanent=True)

Expected output:

bar
bar

Actual output:

bar foo foo
bar

I took a closer look at this. The issue seems to be in the terminal rewrite path when a permanent multi-line progress message replaces an existing temporary one: only the first rendered line clears the previous temporary content, so leftover text can remain on that line.

My current expectation is that the fix belongs in the printer's terminal output path, by ensuring that each rendered line of a permanent multi-line message fully clears any previous temporary line state before the final output is written. I also expect this to need focused coverage around replacing a temporary single-line progress message with a permanent multi-line one.

If that direction sounds right, I'd be happy to put together a fix.

The change handles multiline permanent progress output line-by-line so it correctly replaces a previous temporary progress message, and also logs multiline message text as separate timestamped lines.
