I took a quick look at this. The issue seems small and localized around stream/printer handling when output is piped to an early-closing consumer (for example via head -n1). I also don't see any linked PRs covering it. If this direction sounds right, I'd be happy to investigate and take it.

I went ahead and put together a narrow draft PR for this: #443

The fix is scoped to ignoring BrokenPipeError when the printer writes to or cleans up output streams, so piping to an early-closing consumer (for example head -n1) does not crash the command.
