Characters in filenames make cloning on Windows not work

While trying to help my brother through the material, we tried to clone this repo, but it doesn't work, because Windows can't deal with files with colons in their names.

If you have a Windows machine handy, you should be able to reproduce the issue easily. If not, LMK and I'll add some screenshots.
