New chrome version not syncing all bookmarks

Noticed the new version on chrome and really like the capabilities and interface. I did notice that not all of my bookmarks are syncing, however. On Firefox (does not appear to be updated yet - has upload/download options) I can upload and download just fine. When I try to sync on Chrome there are many bookmarks (at the end of the list) that are not being copied down.

Is there a maximum number or some sort of cut-off that I'm hitting?

Also curious when the Firefox extension will see the new changes.

@swamitommy Thank you very much for your interest and feedback. The new version of the extension in Firefox has been submitted and is now waiting for review. There’s a minor compatibility issue between the old version and the new one. I recommend doing the following: use the old version in Firefox to upload your bookmarks, then use the ForcePull button in new version to download them from the cloud. That should work fine, you can give it a try.

Tried your suggestion but get a "Can't modify workspace folder." error. Firefox still works just fine. Also a bit confused about why the compatibility between versions is an issue in this case. The problem is that the updated chrome version is not fetching the full set of bookmarks from GitHub.

Any other ideas?

@swamitommy Does this error message come from Chrome? I haven’t encountered a similar error before. Could you provide more information?

Hmmmm. So looks like a newer version of the extension was just auto-installed (had to accept permissions again) and now I don't see that workspace error that I described. Maybe just caught between versions.

However, the Chrome version of the (new and improved) extension is still not pulling down the full set of bookmarks as originally described. Happy to privately send the full list of bookmarks from both Chrome (new) and Firefox (old) so you can compare/investigate if needed.

Sending the files via email shortly. Also some more information after testing some more. It appears, in fact, that while I am getting success messages from the chrome extension (in Google Chrome), nothing is actually being synchronized. Force pull also does nothing but I still get a success message.

I tried this in Edge as well using the chrome extension. I get the strange "can't update workspace" message when I try a sync or a force pull.

In both cases, the connection works just fine. I'll do some testing from another computer as well.

Ah, so some progress. The chrome extension and firefox extension are using two separate files in the gist. This would explain much of the behavior I'm seeing. Is this expected?

When using the new version of the extension in MS Edge, I get the workspace error.

@swamitommy If you set the gist filename in the settings to the same one, the first sync issue should be resolved. I haven’t encountered the second problem yet — let me try to reproduce it.
