If you want one day to merge in HA core then Apache 2.0 is the way I think.

OpenEvse is GPL2, but you don't have to follow it for your integration

I don't even remember having sent any commit to this repo. But in any case, and for the record, I am ok with both Apache 2.0 and GPL. So you @firstof9 are the one to chose.
