How to not use UMP? #3087

The videos I watch often don't work on Grayjay, at the moment they only work for 1 minute. I've been told it is to do with UMP. I use PIA for a network wide VPN. Is there a way to watch these videos without using UMP? I know that a fix is being worked on. Appreciate the help. |

From our understanding Youtube will serve only UMP sources if they think you're a bot due to low quality IPs or weird behavior although we don't have any proper insight into this so we could be wrong. Currently we are the only ones who support UMP but Youtube is doing more and more to make this harder. Hope this answers your questions :) |

Is there a way to replicate that on Grayjay? Not sure what settings I should enable/disable in the YouTube source. |

Android streams are enabled by default and we only fallback to UMP in case Youtube didn't provide any better streams which happens for low quality IPs, probably because you are using a VPN. |

That makes sense. I might try to change the VPN I'm using. Are there plans to get UMP working beyond 1 minute? |

Currently we are the only ones who support UMP but Youtube is doing more and more to make this harder.
We currently have issue opened for UMP not playing past 1 minute #3080 for which we developed a fix for desktop (not released yet) but on Android side it's more complicated and we are still working on a solution.
