Choose sensible linlog defaults for plots

Think about good default values for creating lin-log plots (such as mu=0, lin=1)

Right now the behavior is that when lin<0.1 it default to NA which is translated to different default values based on the plot.

We need to come up with a consistent way of doing this which should work for most if not all cases.
