Ability to show all albums

Description

I created separate user in Immich which is connected with the frame. I share albums to this user and I want to configure ImmichFrame to show all of these shared albums instead of providing specific ids.

Use Case

In this specific case, frame user has empty timeline and only shared albums. ImmichFrame doesn't show these albums.

Show all albums is the default (with no Memories/People/Albums defined). If they don't show up in the timeline it won't work in ImmichFrame. That is just how Immich works.

I disagree with you. In Immich, if user A shares an album with user B, user B has access to the photos in that shared album, but those photos are not shown in user B’s timeline. I have exactly this situation: user A is me, and user B is the "Frame" account.

This setup works correctly with ImmichKiosk (it has an option to select all or shared albums), but ImmichFrame looks better, and I would be glad to switch to this project.

You can conduct a test: create new user and share that user an album.

We are saying the same thing, I was just explaining why 😄. I found a workaround, a bit of a hack so we will see if it gets approved.

@3rob3 I think that @michalramus is saying that he did not define any album IDs in his config. His 'timeline' for the user he uses is empty and his user has a bunch of albums, that are shared by him.

In theory, he could define all those IDs in the config but this would be a pain to maintain.

How ImmichFrame works rn: No filters defined --> use the /search/random-endpoint in the immich API. This endpoint only returns assets by me. Thats why I mentioned random in your PR.

I think the solution here would be creating a feature request on the immich repo to have a option to include assets that are shared to me in the /search/random-endpoint.

Yes, that is what I was trying to explain to them. If they don't show up in the "timeline" then search random won't return any assets.
