Description
GenAI frameworks like Intel’s llm-scaler project for multi-B60 only run on Linux, but Linux runtime has no fan control for Battlemage GPUs (specifically, Arc Pro B60), so server sounds like a jet engine under load even when idling.
Are there plans to add support for fan control to the runtime?
This is not a datacenter platform where it would be understandable, as noise is of little concern for server deployments. The cards are marketed as AI workstation GPUs, and AI workloads are executed predominantly on Linux. It's not reasonable to expect a GPU to have fans on at full force 24/7 even when idling.
It's baffling that there is no Linux support for something this simple. Are there any workarounds or any plans for a fix?
