In windows I do: git clone https://github.com/kevincar/DirectPlayHelper

then cd DirectPlayHelper then what?

Sorry for the confusion. Still working on the first pre-release. I should have instructions for building hopefully in a couple months once the program is somewhat functional.

But in short, the build system uses make so if you're using PowerShell you can simply run the following from the root directory:

mkdir build
cd build
cmake ..
cmake --build .

awesome so I guess this is a dll? if I have a server running and two players with client software, both join a lobby, both get ready, host launches the game and both have to have ports open on their routers.

But with your .dll do I put that on each of the client software folder so when they launch they don't have to have the ports open on their routers and will send them both into the game?

Basically I want to do something like GameSpy arcade used to do back in the day, but without having to open ports, just get the app with your .dll so people can launch and join any game as GameRanger does, but GameRanger sucks cause there is no lobby for each game, all games share the same lobby and very hard to find games.

Would be great if you could somehow take https://sourceforge.net/projects/coopnet/ and mix it with your project on github :D

coopnet and their c++ launcher works pretty good, but is kind of old and abandoned and builds with ant

I will install coopnet in the next few days on a test server and test it with your DirectPlayHelper, very exited if it works without having to open ports on routers :D
