Adding anything aside from <p> shrinks the window div

For some reason the box seems to add margins on the sides whenever anything but a p element is added. It happens with img, and I've checked my css and theres not a single other thing affecting img elements, so it doesnt seem to be from my other code. Any ideas?

Thank you for replying! But unfortunately I wasnt talking about the padding from the list element. I meant the entire window shrinks. If you notice the one with

touches the red lines. But the one with the list does not. Thank you for your help though!
