Use environment ID instead of project ID

Motivation

In the product, we're using environment ID as the name of the identifier, but the sample app uses the environment variable PROJECT_ID, which is confusing to users. The readme should also be updated to reflect the naming difference.

Proposed solution

Update the code and readme to refer to the ID as environment ID instead of project ID.
