[BUG] No Data Configured

Describe the problem

Since upgrading from 4.1.7 -> 4.1.8, I'm getting the error above often. I have to logout, then back in again to workaround the issue. However, on the next refresh, I have to do the same. Rolling back to 4.1.7 resolves the issue.

I saw there were changes with authentication, not sure if that is associated with the difference. See screenshot below. Thank you.

Hmm, that's interesting. Seems probably a regression from #2153

In this section, when not authenticated the only part of config which can be returned is the config to setup auth. After sucesful authentication, the page is reloaded, and then you get the full config.

But weirdly, I can't recreate this.
Which OIDC provider are you using?

When you're redirected back to Dashy after login, is the page being reloaded?
Does refreshing the page show the full config? I'm wondering if the stripped config is getting cached?

I'm using authentik. Sorry, thought I posted that.

Let me retest, but pretty sure I tested it in a private tab and ran into the same issue. I'll let you know shortly.

Also experiencing this issue, also using Authentik.

When I look at the container logs I see:

although I have not edited my config at all, the container was just updated today.

In addition to @dasunsrule32 comments above, logging out and back in does not solve this on my system and it does not seem to be caching here as I have tried logging in through an in-private session.

edit: reverting back to version 4.0.8 and the issue goes away

In the meantime, either logging out and back in again, or temporarily downgrading back to 4.1.7 should resolve it.

The log error seemed to be because I had "hideComponents" set to null, commenting out that line removes the error from the container log on startup.

I have been back through the docs to make sure my config file is as per the up to date documentation.

Now, when I try and load dashy I can see in the log

[auth-oidc] token verification failed: fetch failed
[auth-oidc] token verification failed: fetch failed

Indeed, dropping back to 4.1.7 does work as expected.

Hope this gives you some idea as to where to look.

Preliminary fix ready in #2160

I'm just testing this across some different devices, and with all the other auth providers. So give me a couple hours before it's merged.

The root cause was: Frontend was properly authenticated, so didn't request a token refresh, meanwhile server side token had expired so refused to return anything sensitive in the config (all sections and data).

This was my bad, so I'm sorry for breaking your dashboards. I think I'd missed it as I was primarily testing in incognito, and since I was testing 8+ different auth methods / providers, I never let any of them run long enough for their tokens to expire.

Btw, @AndyRap, that warning you see in your terminal is a warning not an error. Shows when there's something in your config which doesn't match the schema, and unless it's causing you an issue it can be safely ignored.

However, this would be a bug if you edited the config via the UI, and it was Dashy who wrote the invalid config (not you doing it manually). If so, then could you give me the steps to reproduce, I can make a fix.
