mpm and inputfile option to display progress at terminal/command prompt

I'm trying to install a bunch of stuff. It's hard to know how the progress is going, other than checking the log file after things fail. It would be nice to have some variant of a verbose option (in both mpm and in inputfile) to push the log to the terminal/command prompt as the installation as occurring.
