Append new channel with data to existing file

i have got an existing file which in need to append an extra channel to an existing group. Is this also possible?

ok, no problem. Would be a nice enhancement though. I can open the file now, store all the channels of the group in a temporary list and then write a new file. That is a workable solutions for now.
