Hi, when determine the orientation with diffraction patterns, did you consider the sample will be tilt 180 degree/α-tilt axis after inserting the sample into the TEM? In this situation, the sign of rotation along α-tilt axis does not change, but the sign of β-tilt axis will be changed. Then if you take the TEM as the refernce system, the rotation along β-tilt axis will be opposite to the holder refernce system, which means positive rotation actually is negative rotation in the TEM reference system.

Hi, no it is not considered by default but you can set up your reference the way you want. Use the $\alpha$-tilt/y-axis angle and the AC to define rotation axes and sign.
