Hello,
Would it be ok to fork your project so I can make it compatible with the psp-2000?

I like the form factor you've chosen and the level of non-soldering required, genius! Love the logo pins!

I was wanting to not only shift the board design to fit the 2000 but also go over the various parts and see if it's possible to add L2 and R2 as well as a second a analogue stick and even L3 and R3 if that's even possible.

I know these would require case modification, as such I'm thinking of them being additional parts connected by ribbon cables, that way they don't interfere with a psp 2000 design and the ethos of "drop it in and play"
So user optional as it we're.

I also wanted to see if the original battery could be used at all.

You can use it however you like. I'm pretty close to opening up the schematics and pcb design files for the production board. Just waiting for the first batch of boards to arrive.

I'm not sure whether getting the genuine batteries working would be easy, but I know some of the aftermarket 3.7v ones can be made to work.

I keep up to date with the YouTube releases, love the explanations.
I'll work out the differences between the boards and the layout etc.

I'm pretty sure it's not too different dimensions wise. The screen size.os identical amongst the 1000-3000, but unsure if the same screen mounting.

Big rabbit hole to delve into 😅

So far the genuine batteries only report information rather than require a handshake, so in theory it should act as a dumb cell.
If it does require and handshake etc, it should be doable of the protocol is known.

One question I had, what's stopping us using the 40 pin LCD from the psp itself ?
I know the original panel can be controlled via SSD1963 which is doable via a controller chip. If one could be sourced that's easy to integrate?
