Gepard.dll failed to initialize

Hi everyone!

I tried to play an old MMO titled Ragnarok Online on my RP5 through a private server called MuhRO, but every private server behaved the same.

The game crashes before showing any screens with the following error:

228.471:0100:0104:err:module:loader_init "gepard.dll" failed to initialize, aborting
228.471:0100:0104:err:module:loader_init Initializing dlls for L"S:\\windows\\MuhRO\\Muh.exe" failed, status c0000005

I am running Rocknix. I am attaching the Proton logs for Midgard Tales, but the error (and dll) is the exact same. Vanilla Wine produces the same errors. No extra box64 flag had been used.

Update:
The DLL gets loaded properly if BOX64_CPUTYPE is set to AMD (1) and BOX64_DYNAREC_SAFEFLAGS is set to 2. I also have AVX set to 2 but I don't think that was necessary.

The game threw me out while using WoW64 but with a Box64 compiled with Box32 it worked flawlessly.

Are you sure the CPUTYPE setting is related? BOX64_DYNAREC_SAFEFLAGS=2 alone is probably enough.

I just checked it, you are totally correct @ksco! It works without. I only assumed because with Box86 SAFEFLAGS=2 wasn't enough for some reason. AVX is also not required.

After some more testing I can confirm that SAFEFLAGS is enough on Box64/Box32. It does not work with Box86, however - but that is a separate issue.
