Hi team,
I'm currently using Packer to deploy Windows 11 desktops for use with Omnissa Horizon.
For reasons I haven’t yet been able to pin down, the 24H2 build of Windows 11 doesn't play nicely with Horizon. The 23H2 build, on the other hand, works perfectly. As part of my troubleshooting, I'm trying to deploy a 23H2 image (which builds and integrates well), and then patch or upgrade it to 24H2—hoping that this approach might bypass whatever issue is occurring with a direct 24H2 build.
To be clear, I’m not certain that upgrading to 24H2 will fix the Horizon issues, but it's the final piece of troubleshooting I can reasonably try before I shelve the 24H2 effort altogether.
However, despite applying all available updates to the 23H2 image, 24H2 is never detected or installed. I've had no success triggering the upgrade.
My questions:
- Is there a way to force the upgrade to 24H2 from a 23H2 base using this plugin?
- Or is this upgrade path simply not supported in the current version?
Appreciate any help you can provide.
Thanks!
Ray
