VCEENC fps go down then Stops with error

I have problems encoding some files with VCEENC, the encoder starts normal then the encoder speed starts to go down slowly, then it stops and gives an error, now last the speed started to go down and the remaining time stopped as you can see in the video.
I attach the log with the errors shown, it should be said that this happens with many .mp4 files but when converting them to .mkv the error no longer occurs.

When I changed it to .mkv, the encoding ended normally and without errors, see the difference in the encoding speed.

It seems like that the encoder is writing it to "hevc" (= raw format) so encoder itself has nothing to do whether it is mp4 output or mkv output. Also, there are no actual error messages in the log.

Unfortunately, it is hard to say what is the cause of the problem.

I guess he can try to use VCEEnc debug or trace log?
StaxRip definitely exposes logging and debug level option. (Trace one is probably possible only via manual command edit).

StaxRip does use AviSynth by default, though. So one of the steps to avoid this problem (but not solve it) would be to force full demuxing and AviSynth preprocessing off. This way you can reencode source file directly and then StaxRip will remux it to move audio.

Theoretically there may also be something with file itself. I had few sources that would crash driver because of few corrupted frames (AMD already fixed that issue quite a while ago). Even though in your case driver does not crash, but only encoder does.
As well as file that would skip part of video track (aka only sound for, like 20+ minutes) because of rapid progressive->interlaced->progressive switch.

But... As it works when you change extension to .mkv, i am inclined to think descibed issue is probably AviSynth related?

This is not the log you should've written to provide debug information for VCEEnc side. This is StaxRip log more than VCEEnc
And you did not encode .mp4 via StaxRip...

By all intents and purposes you encoded .avs intermediary index into .hevc raw file. To encode file directly with StaxRip you need to specifically tell it to do that. For example by setting input to be something besides AviSynth (aka to set it to --avhw or --avsw). It will still output .hevc raw (because StaxRip), but it won't take .avs file for input, but source one instead (still... Why would it output .hevc is a pretty good question, though... I guess due to how StaxRip processes internal scripts?).

You don't even need to set up log path. Logs will be automativally captured from StaxRip console and written to StaxRip encode log.
You can write it separately, but not necessary. Log file name will place it in StaxRip directory. Log path+name will place it wherever this path leads to.
