How do I configure the Bluetooth board to use the PSP LCD display without switching to external input?

Sometimes when I need to switch plugins, the external screen goes black, and I can't switch back to the LCD display. Is there any guidance on this? Thanks.

Unfortunately ths is a side effect of the ESP32 not actually knowing if the PSP is turned on or if the TVOut is enabled. All we can do is tell the PSP to turn on and tell it to enable TVOut. We can then only assume that the PSP has actually followed those requests and not had some plugin disable TVOut.

That being said there are some button combo's allong side the ones to change between saved button configurations that will press the PSP screen button. Allowing you to hold it for the 5 or 6 seconds it takes for the PSP to enable TVout again.

I need to improve the documentation to add this. How you press this combo depends if you have the Use Extra Combo option enabled in the settings page on the web app.

So that combo will behave exactly the same as if you pressed the Display button on the PSP.

Are you using a PSPlaceable or other console like that? The Mode button could have functionality to allow this too if thats easier maybe.

Yes, I'm using PSPlaceable because there's an animated GIF on the configuration page showing the Bluetooth board installed in the UMD slot. I want to try this installation so that the LCD display appears immediately upon startup, instead of switching to an external screen, while still allowing the Bluetooth controller to be used. To achieve this, do I need any special cables? Are there settings for switching between them, or is it done via button combinations?

Ahh i see. Unfortunatly that is not a supported configuration by my project or any builds (PSPlaceable etc) using it.

That GIF is from a prototype where i was trying to make it work internally (that is why the board is shaped like a UMD drive). However i could never get it work so stopped looking into it, it had a number of issues that made it not really worth while.

I forgot that GIF existed and ill remove it, the button in the GIF is the mode button. It's operation is configurable in the webapp and the GIF is simply showing how to use it to enable the BLE mode to connect to the web app.
