Cost of Cauldron is 420 Emerald Blocks, Decompactor cost 96 Redstone Block, 64 Iron Block, 512 Chest, Compactor cost 64 Redstone Block, 96 Iron Block, 512 Chest.

Upped the cost from 128 to 420 Emerald blocks for the Emb Cauldron, changed the cost of the De/Compactor

Perhaps more variety in the cost rather than brute increase is in order?

Why not both?

Maybe add like a stack of diamond ore, since mining can't be easily
automated.

Since everyone is complaining how generally useless slimeballs are, how about adding a stack of them to the compactor/decompactor costs? They seem to have held up in value pretty well. I personally prefer to suggest renewables that require a significant amount of effort to get for these sorts of things BTW.

Also ROFL @ the cost being '420' ... "Blazin' it" In that spirit, the emerald cauldron should additionally require 12 stacks of blaze rods.

What would the repair costs be? just a straight 10%?

we never really did come to a resolution about compactor balance VS nether
factories themselves as a way to accelerate trade, we probably should wrap
up that discussion
