As part of the development for Elderheim, I am working on building out robust support for compiling legacy languages into modern binaries. To get the compiler architecture and syntax parsing as accurate as possible, I am trying to track down original, historical documentation and reference manuals.
Some of these materials are incredibly elusive, so I'm reaching out to the community to see if anyone has scans or digital copies tucked away in their archives.
Specifically, I am looking for documentation (preferably in PDF format) for:
Dartmouth BASIC Third Edition (Version 3)
Dartmouth BASIC Versions 5 through 7
SBASIC (Source BASIC / Structured BASIC variants)
Additionally, if you have historical documentation for any other legacy programming languages that you think would be a great fit for Elderheim to support, please feel free to reach out as well!
How you can help:
If you have access to any of these manuals, specification sheets, or era-appropriate reference texts, please reply directly to this discussion! You can link to them if they are hosted publicly, or let me know the best way to get in touch so we can arrange a share.
Any leads, historical repository links, or physical manual scans would be massively appreciated and will directly help preserve these languages in a modern execution environment.
