Missing light/display control entity for Samsung AC units

Description

Hello,
I have 4 Samsung air conditioners connected via this integration. On two of them (older models), I was previously able to turn the light/display on or off using an entity provided by the integration.

After recent updates, this entity is no longer available. I can still control basic functions (power, mode, temperature), but the light/display control option is missing.

Expected behavior

An entity to turn the AC light/display on or off should still be available, as before.

Current behavior

The entity for light/display control no longer appears in the device entities list.

Additional context

Please let me know if I need to provide debug logs or screenshots. This feature was very useful, especially for controlling the LED light/display at night.

Extra request:
If possible, please also expose an entity or service that supports turn_on and turn_off commands for controlling the AC light/display . This would allow Alexa to send these commands to Home Assistant and properly manage the AC light/display via voice.

@felipesgavioli The same thing happened to me. Previously, I had a light entity for four units. Upgraded from 2025.7.4 to 2025.8.1 and the light entity disappeared. Reverted back to 2025.7.4 with no change of behavior. I tried removing and reinstalling as well as a variety of forks. I believe that Samsung may have updated the capabilities and removed the light entity so the integration no longer adds it. After a few hours of troubleshooting, I gave up and reverted to a seperate rest call to control the light display.

Update your "switch.py" file with this:

switch.py

The switches should be working again.

Thank you, I had the same issues but by updating the switch.py for the custom integration for Smartthings (that I had already) a bit, the light entity works again! (especially line 420 until 444)
