backup stop if we change focus

Expected behaviour

Backup should continue and log writing should continue even if we change the focus on the browser.

Actual behaviour

log output stops (var/log/simplebackup.log) and backup progress also

Steps to reproduct the behaviour

1. start the backup (manually)
2. change the focus on your browser to any other place in ovirt interface
3. log output stops (var/log/simplebackup.log) and backup progress also
4. if we go back to "view progress" in simplebackup, the backup "continues" and log output goes back

For manual backups, the browser is the piece that runs the backup processes in order. Scheduled backups do not require the browser and are run on a timed cron job.

To do that for the manual backups/restores, you'd have to create a linux service and change the way the code works for browser integration.

Stop showing the progress on the browser if I jump to another place, does not look like a problem to me, but stop the backup and the output writing to the log when we asked for manual backup, does not look good. If my browser/computer goes offline for some reason, the whole thing blows.

I think your suggestion would be the ideal, detaching the controlling browser from the backup/restore job it-self, that way the browser see or not the output/state, but it does not affect the underlying job.

Best would be using the ovirt events system to send notification of the backup start/progress/finish.

The status screen does allow you to continue the backup/restore if the browser crashes.

I do agree that a service would be a good idea, however I dont see me coding that for a while as I only use it for scheduled backups and when I do use manual backup/restore I have no issues with browser control.
