Ángel Ojeda · @AngelOjedaBioinfo

Molecular biologist and bioinformatician based in Tena, Ecuador. I work at the intersection of epigenomics, Oxford Nanopore sequencing, and evolutionary biology, currently focused on DNA methylation (5mC and 5hmC) in Heliconius butterflies.

Laboratory Technician at Universidad Regional Amazónica Ikiam. MSc Bioinformatics, Universidad Internacional de Valencia (VIU).


What I work on

  • Epigenomics: ONT-based methylome characterization in non-model Lepidoptera
  • Thermal stress genomics: HSP expression under temperature gradients in Heliconius
  • Diagnostic tools: BLAST-based synthetic positive control extraction for zoonotic disease detection
