Structural Damping with SONATA
Highlights:
- Structural damping prediction example for IEA 22 MW.
- Outputs of matrix maps from sectional forces to stresses and strains (allows easy evaluation of stresses with Python after beam theory simulation).
- Option to output SONATA matrices with applied rotation so that beam theory code sees zero twist for all sections. When called in the correct order, sectional maps to stresses and strains are also adjusted appropriately.
- Improvements to Prony series viscoelastic materials and generation of 6x6 stiffness matrices for a Prony series beam implementation.
- Code linting.
- Bug fixes.
Initial NREL release of SONATA
Highlights:
- ANBA4 backend for 6x6 matrix calculations.
- Regression testing and additional examples.
- Significant code clean-up for wind turbine applications.
- Options to provide custom mesh rather than the one SONATA generates.
- Options to generate 6x6 matrices based on Prony series for viscoelastic materials.
- Various bug fixes.
