The Website Selector is a powerful tool designed to help users quickly search for and access websites using their preferred search engines. With a user-friendly interface and advanced customization options, the Website Selector offers a seamless browsing experience.
Multiple search engines: Choose from popular search engines like Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yahoo to perform your searches. Custom search engines: Add your own custom search engines by specifying the name and URL format. Allow open in new tab: Optionally open search results in a new browser tab for easy multitasking. Dark mode (Beta): Toggle between light and dark color schemes to suit your preferences and reduce eye strain. Persistent settings: The Website Selector remembers your dark mode preference using a cookie, ensuring a consistent experience across sessions. Mobile-friendly design: The responsive layout ensures that the Website Selector works seamlessly on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
- Enter your search query in the input field.
- Select your preferred search engine from the dropdown menu.
- Check the "Open in new tab" box if you want the search results to open in a new tab.
- Click the "Search" button to perform the search.
- To add a custom search engine, click the "Add Search Engine" button and provide the engine's name and search URL format (e.g., https://example.com/search?q=%s)(**%s =Search Query**). The Website Selector will store your custom search engines in local storage and make them available in the dropdown menu.
To clear your custom search engines, click the "Clear Custom Search Engines" button. To reset your custom search engines to the default options, click the "Reset Custom Search Engines" button.
To toggle dark mode, click the brightness button in the top right corner. The Website Selector will remember your dark mode preference using a cookie and apply it on subsequent visits.
