JVM proxy settings (http.proxyHost, http.proxyPort, https.proxyHost, https.proxyPort) are ignored when using RequestConfig.custom(). Such fetches completely ignore http(s) proxy. System properties can be taken into account by using an extra function useSystemProperties() on HttpClientBuilder object.
