I'm breaking #108 into 2 different PRs, one for the "adding straightforward features to the experimental page and moving the file" and one for "this is that weird kinda hacky yardage stuff". Opening this PR just so I get better visibility into the yardage stuff and can play with it/ build on it later if I want.
