Maybe this was already possible before this PR, but when working with maps, it's often useful for me to know what the geometry of a submap is without explicitly doing imap.submap, because I may not yet have imap loaded in memory. This PR just adds some new functions to allow this.

Running emacs' tabify seems to have added some extra whitespace. Let me know if this is annoying.
