Summary

Adds a new Chinese GEO Ecosystem section covering Chinese AI search engines and their distinct citation biases.

Why this matters

Most GEO resources focus exclusively on English-language AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews). However, the Chinese AI search landscape has fundamentally different dynamics:

  • Ecosystem lock-in: Baidu's Wenxin Yiyan and ByteDance's Doubao strongly favor their own content platforms, unlike the relatively neutral citation behavior of Western AI engines.
  • Zhihu as the Chinese Reddit: Zhihu is cited by ALL major Chinese AI engines (62.5% citation rate), making it the single most important platform for Chinese GEO — analogous to Reddit's role in English GEO.
  • Neutral newcomers: Kimi (Moonshot AI) and DeepSeek behave more like Western AI engines, showing relatively neutral citation patterns.

What's added

  • Table of 4 major Chinese AI search engines with their citation biases
  • Key differences between Chinese and English GEO
  • Links to Chinese GEO resources: awesome-geo-cn, a free 10-week Chinese GEO course based on KDD 2024 paper, and the original KDD 2024 GEO paper
  • TOC entry for the new section

This section complements the existing content by covering a market segment that serves 1B+ users but is currently unrepresented in the list.
