PixTab is a lightweight, aesthetic browser extension that displays Pixiv artworks on your new tab page. It supports custom configuration, keyword search, localization, and works beautifully with both Chromium and Firefox-based browsers. (✿◡‿◡)

Note: This extension is not listed on the Chrome Web Store. Chrome users, please install it manually using the steps below.

- Clone or download this repository.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin your browser. - Enable Developer mode (usually in the top right corner).
- Option A — Install from packaged ZIP (Quick):
- If you downloaded a release from
dist/(e.g.,dist/pixtab-0.9-chrome.zip), try dragging the.zipfile onto thechrome://extensionspage. - If drag-and-drop fails, unzip the package and use Load unpacked to select the extracted folder.
- If you downloaded a release from
- Option B — Install from source (Developer):
- Click Load unpacked and select the project folder.
- Open a new tab and enjoy! ✨

- Clone or download this repository.
- Use Firefox 140 or later, and open
about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox. - Click Load Temporary Add-on...
- Option A — Install packaged XPI (Testing):
- If you downloaded a release
dist/*.xpi(e.g.,dist/pixtab-0.9-firefox.xpi), openabout:addons, click the gear icon ⚙️ → Install Add-on From File..., or drag the.xpifile onto the page.

manifest.jsonfile in the project folder.

Note: Temporarily loaded extensions in Firefox will be removed when the browser restarts.
This extension requires access to Pixiv (pixiv.net and pximg.net).
For users in regions with restricted access: This extension supports Reverse Proxy for loading images. You can enable this feature in the Advanced Settings:
- Open extension settings
- Scroll to Advanced Settings
- Enter a proxy domain in Use Reverse Proxy (e.g.,
i.pixiv.re,i.pixiv.cat,i.pixiv.nl)- Leave empty to disable

If images still cannot load, check your network connection or try a different proxy domain. Note that this extension does not provide its own proxy infrastructure—it uses third-party reverse proxy services.
